Devils Lake | Nature Photography

Last weekend my husband and I drove up to Baraboo, WI to Devils Lake State Park to go camping with our friends Joe & Rachel, and Jen & Jacob. On Saturday afternoon we went for a walk/hike. I set Steve up on my 40d with the 28-135 and turned him loose on the scene. I had my 5d and 85mm 1.8 and I’m now more in love with this lens than ever! A few times I wished I had a macro lens but I channeled Tim Gunn and made it work! The camera-less crew had to stop and wait for us to catch up sometimes when we’d find interesting flowers or bugs  but they were good sports about it! It’s nice to just go out and take random pictures for fun sometimes! Enjoy!

QueenAnnesLace

Does anyone else know the story of the one red blossom in the middle of Queen Anne’s Lace? The story goes: Queen Anne accidentally pricked her finger while making lace and dripped one drop of blood on it, so now one bud on the Queen Anne’s Lace will be blood red. Can you find the red petal?

Thanks for stopping by!
